Hi, I’m Jen.
I launched this blog in 2020 when my husband, Jay and I quit our jobs to travel and volunteer with social enterprises in developing countries. Seven weeks into our sabbatical, the pandemic shut down the globe and sent us home unemployed, without a plan. We leaned into our passions — dance, ministry, writing, personal finance, coding — for the remaining months and landed new jobs. I’d like to think that we make a mean lemonade when life gives us lemons.
Fast-forward three years, I got my biggest promotion, from Wife to Girl Mom, and I became an expert at the art of resetting.
I’m a CEO-wannabe turned professional mom who wants to help women choreograph their own paths. What drives me is my faith in Jesus Christ and a passion to develop people’s potentials. I once made a living by managing change and launching products for fancy companies, but I’ve gotten the highest return from teaching dance in under-resourced communities, where I can help youth develop life skills and access mentors. I offer perspective on how to take calculated professional risks, pivot when plans fall apart, and create things from scratch. More usefully, I have travel recommendations for any and every vibe (Croatia, anyone?).
My goal is to encourage women to be their best and take the road less traveled by. Now that I’m telling stories again, I want to share about change and growth through the lens of faith, motherhood, vocation, and community.
To the Movers and Shakers, it’s nice to meet you — let’s make the journey of a lifetime!
